About the Artist
Ken Tobias is a Canadian music legend known for hits like "I Just Want To Make Music," "Every Bit Of Love," and "Give A Little Love" from the 60s and 70s.
He was a cast member of CBC series Music Hop and Singalong Jubilee along with Anne Murray. In 2013, he received Music New Brunswick's Directors Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2017, he was inducted into Casino Nova Scotia's Music Hall Of Fame. His song "Stay Awhile" by The Bells sold millions worldwide.
Ken is also a self-taught visual artist, with over 200 of his 500 paintings hanging in homes across North America and Europe. He explores various genres, including still life, landscapes, fantasy, and figure study. Ken's work reflects his pursuit of beauty through light, shadow, and 3D elements, marked by a consistent sense of colour. After a successful music career, he turned to painting, living in Toronto's Queen Street art scene, represented by "The Gallery Wall" for 13 years.
Now back in his hometown, Saint John, New Brunswick, his art is displayed at various galleries, including the True North Musicians Gallery Of Fine Arts in Waterdown, Ontario, alongside renowned artists like Tony Bennett, Sir Paul McCartney, and Andy Warhol. While still active in music, Ken now dedicates most of his time to painting.
